oh my, i don’t covet often but this is sexy. A 10” box set that contains special packaging galore. disc 1 chosen by fans, disc 2 curated by founder, warp20 recreated which includes a double cd of warp artists covering warp artists, and 3 10” vinyl of unreleased tracks. and a beautiful book containing every piece of warp album art, ever. and more!
it looks beautiful, but apparently too beautiful to touch, as the store link is down. i imagine its sold out at this point, which is probably all for the better considering its $150
thoughts on a mixtape site.
1) some people love creating mixtapes, everyone loves receiving mixtapes. site would need to be able to be maintained by the some for the many, where a little bit of content can benefit a large group of people. community component of mixmemixyou was good, but was not worth maintaining due to lack of participation. allow passive participation.
2) voting songs up a better idea than voting songs up and down. also allows for a rating that helps in randomly piecing mixtapes. no account needed for this. so what if some songs are ‘voted up’
3) the music needs to be integrated into this. is this an upload? adam believes this is unnecessary and can be paired with a music site that links to songs.
4) monthly tape/podcast.
Have you ever walked into a gallery and thought ‘this is why I cannot wait to start being able to buy art’ Not, $50 for a print art (though that is good art too), but $8500 for a painting art. Walking into Josh Keyes exhibition in Denver friday, I had that very same thought.
